Complex Care at Home
What is complex care?
Complex care is specialist support that is bespoke, person-centred, outcome-focused and tailored to meet the needs of someone with a chronic or long-term health condition. As a result of the condition, the person requires extra assistance to manage their symptoms and daily activities to live as independently as possible within their home enjoying a higher quality of life.
Complex care can include any condition that requires clinical support, such as Parkinson’s, acquired brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, motor neuron disease and other neurological conditions. Interventions required can include PEG feeding, Continence Care (catheter care and stoma care), ventilator care, tracheostomy care, airway clearance etc.
